It’s your start date and you’re not online yet? No problem — let’s get this sorted.
If you’re setting up your Rebel R1 Router and you’ve connected it to your Openreach socket, you might see a red light on the router at first. This means your broadband line hasn’t been activated just yet.
When will my Broadband go live?
Our network partner Openreach activates your line remotely on your start date. This can happen at any time up to 5pm on the day, so it’s normal if your router shows a red light before then.
Once your line is activated, your router light should turn green and you’ll be good to go!
What if the Red light is still on after 5pm?
If your Rebel R1 Router continues to show a red light past 5pm there is a few reasons for this such as an authentication issue on the line or a fault with our network provider Openreach.
What should I do next?
Follow the steps in our guide What do I do if my Router's Internet Light is Red? for trouble shooting tips you can try at home to get your Rebel Router connected.
If you’ve tried those steps and you’re still not online, get in touch with our Support Team we’ll investigate as you are likely experiencing an Openreach fault.
